The Anderson side of the family
My father is Raymond Anderson, he was born March 6th 1920. Like I said in the first page, his father, my grandfather, died when Dad was only 15 years old. The family names on my fathers side of the family is Anderson of course, Skoglund (Grandmother), Pearson (Maternal Great Grandmother). I do not know the maiden name of my paternal great grandmother. My hope is that with putting this out on the internet I might find hints from some long lost relatives.
Oscar Leopold Anderson (1887-1935)
My dad’s father is Oscar Leopold Anderson he was born on 15 Nov 1887 in Minneapolis Minnesota to John Magnus Anderson and Anna Maria Anderson. He died on 21 Dec 1935 in my home town Des Moines, Iowa. From talking to dad Oscar died from pneumonia, he was buried in Minneapolis on Dec 24th at the Crystal Lake Cemetery in Minneapolis.
My grandfather lived in Minneapolis and moved to Des Moines sometime between 1920 and 1920 according to census data. I did find that he married my grandmother Olga sometime in the year 1914. From the letter between Oscar and William, my grand uncle, he lived at least two different places in Des Moines, both of which were on the south side of the city. The house he purchased was about 2-3 miles from my current parents home. My grandfather was employed by the Des Moines Register and Tribune as an engraver until he died.
Olga Skoglund (1889-1976)
My dad’s mother was Olga Skoglund she was born in Sweden some time in the year 1889 and died some time in 1876
William Charles Anderson is my great uncle. There is not a lot I know about him, the Anderson side of my family is very much a mystery.
