I hear from my sources that they&#039;re actually seeming to put some concerted and ... attentive (for lack of a better word) effort into 1) minimizing the number of layoffs, and 2) making sure the cuts make &lt;i&gt;sense&lt;/i&gt; this time.

But yeah, it still sucks.

It&#039;s really weird to work somewhere now where, as the school year starts up, I&#039;m &lt;i&gt;not&lt;/i&gt; automatically thinking of it as &quot;layoff season&quot;.</description>
