December 2005

We celebrated Christmas this year on a Sunday. We got up early, opened all of our gifts and then managed to go to church for 11am service. Pastor promised his “25/25 Service”– 25 minutes of music and 25 minutes of preaching–and he actually made it in 20 minutes. We came back home and enjoyed a nice Christmas dinner. Well it’s finally Christmas Eve. A day that we enjoy together with the family. We went to church for a Candlelight Service. The service was really nice. We came back to the house for some light appetizers and spent the rest of the night with friends. Looking forward to Christmas Day!

Today we went with the family and took a trip to down town Washington DC to see the National Christmas Tree. This is the second time that we have gone, but every year the tree is decorated different. We took pictures for those family and friends in other states of several state Christmas trees to include Iowa and Indiana. We took some pictures and hope you enjoy them. Before we went on our trip to DC, we saw the movie “Fun with Dick and Jane.” It was a good movie or I should say entertaining and funny.

On our way to visit the National Christmas tree take a look at the gas prices that we saw. If they keep going up, pretty soon, we won’t be able to afford to go to work. Back to horse and buggy or will we see a lot of people riding their bikes to work and school. Take a look at the price on the board

School is finally out and we are officially on Christmas Break and I just finished my final from my last class this fall. Most of my Christmas shopping is done aside from the stocking stuffers. Christmas cards are all mailed off and we are getting ready for our annual Christmas Eve gathering with friends. We want to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. May Christ reign in your home this Christmas Season and throughout the year.

When we left school today, it had started snowing. This is the first big snow of the season. The roads were wet but the ground and the trees were beautifully covered with white snow. On the way home, we stopped by the store to purchase a few items. We were in the store for about 1/2 hour and by the time we came out the streets were covered with snow. I have a feeling that schools will be cancelled tomorrow but we’ll have to wait and see. It is now a few hours later and the snow is coming down. I’m hopeful for a day off tomorrow!

Today, we went to the annual America OnLine Christmas Party. It was at the National Air and Space Museum in Chantilly. We had a great time. Last year, my feet were hurting so bad that we only stayed for a few hours and came home. I was ready to take my shoes off on my way to the parking lot. This year, however, I came prepared, I wore low heels. We actually stayed until about 11pm. There was an assortment of food, i.e., Spanish, Chinese, Indian, and American. The deserts were so many to choose from but I had a sample of quite a few of them. They even had chocolate fountains with fruits for dipping, and a cappuchino and latte bar. They had Karioke and a Comedian, which by the way, wasn’t too funny, so we left. However, I do have to say that it is one of the best Christmas Parties ever.
