It is a rainy cold day here in Dale City. Nothing better than siting here watch Iowa play football. Not much going on, there is nothing better that just being lazy around the house.

It is interesting to see the attitudes of people about my employer, AOL. Most only focus on the shrinking subscriber base, they have a laser focus on that and only that. It is almost like they think AOL has no idea that they are losing subscribers. Yeah we know that already, and we have been working on other avenues for some time now. Live 8 is a good example of driving eyeballs to the site. And that is just the beginning of change at AOL.

There have been several news articles about how we are now the “belle of the ball”. Most are astonished at the change, but then again most miss what is really happening AOL. A good article, and someone who “gets it”, is from The Economist . It is certainly interesting times at AOL. From talking to most people at work, if it was up to us, it would be anyone but Microsoft. Although with Google’s huge rise in price last Friday, up 12%, it would be nice to be part of that…

Oh… btw… Iowa lost in overtime to Michigan 17-20…. bummer…

Upate: more press on AOL from the Washington Post.. which usually hates us…
