November 2004

Thanksgiving was an exciting weekend for us. While the rest of the world celebrated by going shopping (known as Black Friday), we spent our Thanksgiving weekend taking our youth on a Mission’s Trip to Samaritan’s Purse (Operation Christmas Child). We began participating in Operation Christmas Child five years ago because we want to instill in our children that Christmas should be about giving. While it is nice to receive gifts, it is better to give. This year, we stayed at the MainStay Suites in Charlotte NC and spent 12 hours volunteering at the OCC warehouse. If you ask any youth that volunteered, I’m sure they will tell you that it was a weekend they will never forget and would be glad to share their testimony.

Well, every year, my husband says to me “I don’t know what to get you for Christmas.” So I thought I’d help him out this year. So to my family and husband, here is my Christmas Wish List:

Thomas Kinkade A Peaceful Time (Christian Family Bookstores); Celine Dion perfume (Sears or most perfume stores); Lee® Relaxed Fit Jeans (Petite); Sweaters: Sonoma™ Rolled-Neck Snowflake Sweater, Croft & Barrow® Ice Skate Cardigan, Croft & Barrow® Poinsettia Turtleneck, Sonoma™ Striped Turtleneck Sweater; Bath & Body Shower Gels; Gloria Vanderbilt® Striped Athletic Pants; Flannel Jammies; 2005 Wall Calendar, Isotoner® Terry Ballerina Slippers; Dockers® Shielded Rectangular Sunglasses; A Keeshey puppy I can spoil , A new bedroom set. Most of these are found at Kohl’s except when store indicated. This list will be revised as the date gets closer to Christmas.
