First week @AOL

Posted on 11 June 2004

Well I changed jobs, and am now working at AOL. I just finished my first full week. Nothing like reading mind numbing documentation, in a room that is overly hot. I have four, yes 4, other roommates in my office. It is extremely warm in the office, it isn’t the 10 moniters or the 10 computers. It is the space heater that one my officemates turns on when the temperature drops below 85 degrees!!!!

It is as a friend of mine said, ‘it is a breath of fresh air’. I am still getting access and learning the environment, but things are looking up. Not that they were ever really bad…but you get tired of hearing “We are going to comeback stronger than ever” and not seeing any evidence of it. Collective just might come back to 500+, but right now with under 200 employees, I doubt it.
